Job description
As a Technical Sales Engineer at Payter, you will bridge the gap between our innovative payment technology and client needs. You will work closely with the sales, engineering, product teams and our integration team to provide expert guidance, technical support, and tailored solutions to our clients. Your role is crucial in ensuring the successful integration and adoption of Payter’s products, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical point of contact for prospective and existing clients, providing in-depth product knowledge and technical support throughout the sales cycle.
Conduct product demonstrations and presentations, translating complex technical features into clear business value for clients in sectors such as vending, EV charging, and retail.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business and technical requirements, recommending optimal Payter solutions and ensuring seamless integration with their systems.
Support the sales team in preparing bids, tenders, and technical documentation, including client quotations and proposals.
Deliver pre-sales technical assistance, product education, and training to clients and partners.
Collaborate closely with the integration (post-sales) teams to ensure all client requirements, technical details, and project milestones are clearly communicated for a smooth and seamless implementation process
Gather and analyse customer feedback, contributing to product development and continuous improvement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, compliance standards (e.g., EMV, NFC, regional payment regulations), and emerging payment technologies.
Attend trade shows, conferences, and marketing events to represent Payter and support business development activities.
Job requirements
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in a technical sales, sales engineering, ideally within payment technology, fintech, or IoT hardware/software integration.
Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly learn and explain complex products and solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen.
Experience with CRM systems and sales tools (e.g., Odoo, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch or Chinese additional languages is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the payments’ industry, vending solutions, or unattended payment environments.
Familiarity with contactless payments (NFC), EMV standards, and integration with hardware/software platforms.
Background in supporting or selling cloud-based solutions or IoT devices.
