Front End Developer (Mendix)

The front-end developer at Payter designs, build, and maintains user interfaces for Payter’s internal IT systems using Mendix, ensuring they are visually appealing, intuitive, and responsive. This role translates design and business requirements into interactive digital experiences that support Payter’s business, for your Payter colleagues, as well as for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software with a focus on front-end components for web and mobile applications using the Mendix low-code platform.

• Modifies existing interfaces to add new functions, improve performance, or enhance usability.

• May participate in all aspects from detailed programming to high-level system design, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Integrates Mendix applications with existing systems and APIs, ensuring robust data flows and interoperability.

• Troubleshoots, debugs, and optimizes front-end application performance and resolves issues as they arise.

• Ensures application security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.

• Documents technical specifications and maintains clear records of development processes and updates.

• Stays current with Mendix platform updates and front-end development trends, applying best practices to all projects.

• Contributes to Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, task estimation, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Has working knowledge and experience in Front End Development and Mendix, with a strong portfolio of web/mobile applications, including application design, development, and deployment.

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Perform assignments with some guidance and direction, mainly working independently on assigned tasks  

• Analyze and resolve problems using established standards, best practices, and development procedures 

• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience

• Solid understanding of modern UI technologies and how to apply them in a low-code settings

• Experience integrating REST APIs and microservices

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams.

• Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing front-end applications for performance and scalability.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices, version control (e.g., GIT), and CI/CD pipelines is desirable.

Preferred:

• Mendix Intermediate or Advanced Developer Certification is a plus.
