Your challenge at Payter
Payter is a fast-growing tech scale-up and the responsibilities of the HR Manager are diverse and dynamic. They are crucial in shaping the company culture, managing talent, and ensuring HR practices align with the organization's growth objectives. You will have to be versatile and enjoy switching between strategic thinking, handling operational matters and administrative tasks. If you are looking for the next step in your HR career and are not afraid to take responsibility, even if you don’t know all the answers, this may be your job.

Your Responsibilities:

  • As a Business Partner for the CEO and the management team you share insights and recommendations to align HR strategy with the overall business goals. As a conversational partner you adeptly coach and support leaders and employees, offering constructive feedback

  • To create an engaged and connected (international and remote) workplace, you nurture and develop the company culture with an effective internal communication structure, including a user-friendly HR intranet and regular updates for the team

  • You oversee talent acquisition, align the hiring plan with the organizational goals and collaborate seamlessly with the recruiter, occasionally managing the entire hiring process yourself. To support managers making informed hiring decisions you also conduct interviews. And to ensure a positive and engaging first experience with Payter, you introduce new hires through the onboarding process

  • You deliver new, optimize existing and operationalize scalable HR policies & processes and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Think about the following topics for the coming years; employee relations, goal setting, communication skills, coaching & (leadership) development, compensation & benefits, health & wellbeing, succession planning, remote working & flexibility, engagement and performance management. For some of these policies you may need external help, which is not a problem.

  • And don’t forget the basics, ensuring an accurate employee administration, mutations, checks, reporting and analytics (payroll is outsourced, and we use Sage as a HRIS)

  • Lastly, you manage (occasionally long-term) sickness according to ‘Wet Poortwachter’ or legal issues (if needed with help from our medical services partner or an external lawyer)

What do you bring to the table?
We think that as a HR Manager within Payter, you will be successful if you bring the following knowledge and experience with you. If you do not meet all the requirements but are convinced that you have the qualities for this position, we would like to ask you to still apply. We are open to being convinced:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in HRM or business administration;

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a (senior) HR advisor/HR Business partner;

  • Ability to deliver, present and implement HR policies (potentially with external help);

  • Excel & data savvy and experience with HR tools & platforms like HRIS, ATS, payroll, engagement, performance or learning platforms, diverse portals like UWV, IND, etc. (and not afraid to dive in unfamiliar ones);

  • Work hands-on, proactively and independently without losing connection with the management team;

  • Being able and enjoy switching between strategy and operations and everything in between;

  • Courageous or comfortable in communication: giving presentations, leading conversations, giving constructive feedback;

  • You are proficient in the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing.

  • Multitask & prioritize, open to learn and develop, find things out, helicopter view, resilient, able to deal with unclarity, accurate & organized.
